DAY 1: PICKUP FROM COORG: Hotel / Bus Station and proceed to Coorg (Madikeri) Sightseeing places including:

TALACAUVERY: Apart from the birthplace of River Kaveri, the town of Talacauvery is also famous for a temple dedicated to Goddess Kaveriamma (Mother Kaveri). The beautiful temple is surrounded by even more breathtaking hills. The undulating hills and lush green meadows are very picturesque.

BHAGAMANDALA: Sri Bhagananda Maharshi was a great devotee of Lord Subramanyam and Lord Shiva and decided to engage in severe penance till he gets to seek their blessings. After years of devoting every waking moment of his life in the prayers of the lord, the time finally came when his prayers were answered. Lord Subramanyam blessed him and manifested the place with a stone in his form, and Lord Shiva invoked a Shiva Linga at the location and promised his infinite presence in it.

MADIKERI FORT: The then king of Coorg, Muddu Raja, constructed the Madikeri Fort in the second half of the 17th century when Madikeri was declared as the new capital of Coorg. He also built a palace inside the main structure, and the fort had been constructed as a mud structure.

ABBEY FALLS: Being a non-perennial stream, Abbey falls feed on the rain like most rivers and falls of southern India. So if you want to see it in its full form, it is preferable that you visit during the monsoon. Thus, July to October is an ideal time. However, the rain makes the road down to the falls slippery and a bit unsafe.

RAJA’S SEAT: The seat served as a perfect location for a breathtaking view of the valley and the rolling mountain ranges far ahead. Since it faced the west, it served as the ideal place to capture beautiful sunset view, and hence the Kings and their Queens mostly watched the sunsets from here amidst the lush green gardens and fresh misty air of Coorg

OMKARESHWARA TEMPLE: The Omkareshwara Temple was constructed by King Lingarajendra II in the 18th century. Legend has it that the temple was built by the king as a form of penance. The Omkareshwara Temple is an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated in the town of Madikeri in Coorg, Karnataka. The speciality of the temple is that its construction reflects a mix of Gothic and Islamic styles. It is a popular religious destination of Coorg. The temple draws a large number of tourists and devotees regularly.
