Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is in the Kudroli area of Mangalore in Karnataka, India. It was consecrated by Narayana Guru. It is dedicated to Gokarnanatha, a form of Lord Shiva. This temple was built in 1912 by Adhyaksha. The temple of Manjunatheshwara on the hills of Kadri is a very beautiful and popular temple in Mangalore. It is said to be built during the 10th or 11th century. It was converted to a complete stone structure during the 14th century.This temple is a must-see place since the city of Mangalore was named after this Goddess, Mangaladevi. This temple is located in Bolara, just 3kms from the heart of the city.Panambur Beach is located 10Kms from the city of Mangalore, India. KODROLI TEMPLE: Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, built by Sri Narayana Guru, the saint and social reformer from Kerala, dates from 1912. Only temple in Karnataka built by Sri Narayana Guru, it was meant for the worship by Billava community, who were prohibited from entering other temples. Main deity of the temple is Gokarnanatheshwara, a form of Lord Shiva.
KADRI TEMPLE: Placed in the Kadri hills of Mangalore, Kadri Manjunath Temple is a square-shaped sacred site that is constructed on the highest hill here. Receiving water from a nearby natural spring, there are a number of ponds that surround the temple. Mythology links Manjunath temple to Sage Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
MANGALADEVI TEMPLE: For King Kundavarma it was certainly a surprise to know that his land had such a ancient history. The saints informed the king that once upon a time there was a holy temple in his land and it was dedicated to goddess Mangaladevi. The two holy saints took the king to the location where this entire historical incident had taken place. They requested the king to dig the land and relieve the Linga and the Dharapatra representing Mangaladevi and establish them in a shrine along with Nagaraja for the protection. A grand shrine of Sri Mangaladevi was built on the hallowed place as per the instructions of two saints.
PANAMBUR BEACH: Panambur Beach is located 10Kms from the city of Mangalore, India. Known for its cleanliness and safety, this is the city’s most visited beach. The beach aura warms up during the carnivals, organized by the district authorities. The festivities include boat races, beach sports and sand sculpture contests. Besides, the kite festival, organized every year, attracts participants from across the country and also abroad during the International Kite Festival held every 2 years at here at Panambur Beach Mangalore.
TANNIR BAVI BEACH: A plain, straight beach, as most of the other beaches in the region, offers blissful evenings and beautiful sunsets. Opposite to the sea, the land is lined by tall trees, which add to the ambience. The beach receives more people on weekends, locals and tourists, with fewer people on weekdays. But, the crowd is always far less than that at Panambur, making Tannirbavi much serene and peaceful. You can see many fishermen at sea in their boats, ships entering and exiting the harbor from here.
