RAMESWARAM TEMPLE: The lingam in the Rameshwaram Temple was installed by Lord Rama but, the construction was led by several rulers over the centuries. Inside the temple, there are two lingams- Ramalingam and Shivalingam. The latter is still worshipped first to preserve the words of Lord Rama. The twenty-two holy water bodies of the Ramanathaswamy Temple come to the rescue of people living a life full of regrets and those who want to absolve their sins.

DHANUSHKODI BEACH: The Dhanushkodi Beach is one of the few major attractions this quaint town has to offer. The white sand beach is mostly deserted. So you can enjoy a silent walk on the beach, without worrying about disturbances from a large crowd of beach goers. To add to that, every now and then, you will spot someone or the other selling eatables. To sum up, this beach experience is one that you will remember.

AGNITHEERTHAM: In the Sanskrit language, the word agni means fire; while the word theertham means holy water. Agnitheertham has been mentioned several times in the ancient texts and mythological legends as a pilgrimage of significant importance among the Hindus. The devotees visiting the theertham offer their prayers to the deity and atone their sins by taking a dip in the holy waters.

GLASS BOAT RIDE AT PAMBAN BRIDGE: The Pamban Road Bridge connects the National Highway (NH 49) with the Rameswaram island. It stands on the Palk Strait and between the shores of Mandapam (a place on the Indian mainland) and Pamban (one of the fishermen town in Rameswaram island). It was inaugurated by former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on 2 October 1988.This 2.345 km long Bridge took close to 14 years to be completed. With exotic fishes and marvelous corals to see, the glass boat ride at Pamban Bridge is a must do.

KOTHNADARAMASWAMY TEMPLE: There had been several instances of cyclone in the area but the temple stayed to be intact even in most critical times. It too has the history and story of Ramayan in its footings. Here, Vibhishana, Ravan’s brother joined hands with Rama and hence Vibhishana too is worshiped at this place. The temple has several wonderful paintings all around the walls of it which flows with the flow of Ramayana and one can enjoy being in the temple with the guide who keeps narrating the story at every instance of time.

LAKSHMANA TIRTHAM: Lakshmana Tirtham had been constructed in the loving memory of Lord Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama. In order to offer sacred prayers to lord Lakshmana, this temple has been constructed in Rameshwaram itself which indicates that Lord Lakshman had been given a valuable place in the dynasty of Lord Rama.

JADA TIRTHAM: Kaveri tirtham is the holy tirtham in southern India where god Kapardishvara is worshipped. Jada tirtham is a small temple which lies within Kaveri Tirtham and holds its own mythological importance. The temple is constructed near the trunk of a large peepal tree and all the deities are supposed to have rested there while they had been in banvas.
